What on earth is this thing.
As it would happen, it is the Kodak Pleaser II (from their Kodamatic Instant Color Film series). This was the Polaroid competition. I’m no authority on the issue, but maybe the fact that the thing looks goofy as shit has something to do with it’s failure…
In its defense, though, I saw some of its film “polaroids” (what else do you call them?!) 20 years later, and they looked more crisp and colorful than a Polaroid does right as it develops. I’ve tried finding the film, but unfortunately it is dead and buried.
Just a little piece of crazy retro camera history.
